I cut grass sections and applied to the back wall of the card. I applied leaves and flowers to the tree with glossy accents and attached it to the back of the card using mounting tape and rolled up glue dots.

I applied flowers, grass and butterflies to a fence with a welcoming open gate to invite you in to the inside scene. I turned the background layer over and created a simple matching scene on the front layer. I didn’t bring the green grass all the way out to the end of the card base as I thought it was more interesting to stop it further back. I added texture to the grass area with the mini fern stamp from my Outdoor Master. I used my Inkssentials ink blending tool to apply the ink to both areas and then repeated the application on the inside background layer. I folded a second piece of cardstock, used the opening of the bench layer as a template to mark the area that I needed to sponge color on for the background.Īfter I finished I used my new best friend, Post-It Removable Labeling Tape to mask off the bench to protect while I sponged in the sky and ground area. I knew I wanted to sponge in a sky and grassy ground area to create a scene behind the bench. Once I had completed that I gently folded the card shut to strengthen the scored sections. I removed all the negative pieces from the cut, folded the bench on the score lines to create the pop up. I placed it on my magnetic platform and placed the die face down lining up the notches on each side of the die with the score line. I started with a 5.50” x 4.25” piece of cardstock and scored it down the middle.

I took a few shots to show my steps for the basic bench pop up layer and background layer.
#Bench fold card template how to
Once I got that figured out I had to figure out how to create the background to fill in the opening left from the bench cut. This was a time consuming card to make since it was my first time working with this pop up die. I have a fun project to share with you today using my new Elizabeth Craft Designs Garden Bench and All Seasons Tree paired with Poppystamps Picket Fence, Impression Obsession Leafy Branch, Leaves and Stems, Memory Box Butterfly Delights, My Favorite Things Fresh Cut Grass and Kittie Kits Outdoor Master.
